As part of the process of development of the National Strategic Plan on HIV/AIDS for 2007-2011, the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO), in collaboration with a range of partners, organized, from 5 to 17 February 2007, a review of the health sector response to the HIV epidemic in Indonesia.

The purpose of the Behavioral Surveillance Survey (BSS) is to systematically monitor trends in HIV / STI risk behavior over time.

The first round of the Integrated Behavioural and Biological Assessment (IBBA) was implemented in 29 districts in six states, i.e., Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Manipur, and Nagaland.

This summary presents key findings of the IBBS 2007 from two (2) cities from which only behavioral survey data were gathered (Semarang and Malang) and four (4) cities from which both biological and behavioral data were gathered (Medan, Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya).

The aim of this review was to gather information relating to HIV prevention, care and treatment in prisons in the WHO South-East Asia Region. Countries selected for inclusion in the review were India, Indonesia, Nepal and Thailand.

This paper has two objectives. The first is to examine the robustness of two different epidemiological models; these models were used to determine the impact of IDU interventions in Nepal when interventions are scaled-up to reach 60% of IDUs, as recommended by UNAIDS. The second objective is to disseminate the outcome of two cost-effectiveness analyses of IDU interventions in Nepal.

FHI/Vietnam shared results from the female sex workers (FSWs) rapid interviews at a workshop for provincial project staff, health educators, peer educators, drop-in center managers, and partner project managers.

The survey aimed to improve the understanding the situation of HIV and sexually transmitted infections in female sex workers. The result would help a better prevention programme planning in Hong Kong.

This report presents the findings and conclusions from the fifth round of the national HIV serological and behavioural surveillance that was conducted between June 2003 and March 2004.

The first round of behavioural surveillance produced some very interesting results. Six groups considered at risk of HIV infection were surveyed between October 2006 and March 2007.
