This report presents an analysis of the recommendations made by the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) on the issues of sexual and reproductive health and rights and gender-based violence. It also reviews the implementation of these recommendations by United Nations Member States. 

WHO preferred product characteristics (PPCs) provide strategic guidance as to WHO’s preferences for new vaccines in priority disease areas. PPCs are intended to encourage innovation and development of vaccines for use in settings most relevant to the global unmet public health need. Development of one or more herpes simplex virus (HSV) vaccines is an important objective for sexual and reproductive health worldwide. HSV vaccine PPCs describe global public health goals for HSV vaccines and preferred parameters pertaining to vaccine indications and target populations, safety and efficacy considerations, research and development, and immunization strategies.  

Violence against women is a major public health problem rooted in gender inequality, and is a gross violation of women’s human rights affecting the lives and health of millions of women and girls. Aiming to end violence against women, a package/framework with infographics on prevention of violence against women - RESPECT – Preventing violence against women: A framework for policymakers, was developed, based on the UN framework for action to prevent violence against women from 2015 and updated new evidence.

Following universal access to antiretroviral therapy in Thailand, evidence from National AIDS Spending Assessment indicates a decreasing proportion of expenditure on prevention interventions. To prompt policymakers to revitalize HIV prevention, this study identifies a comprehensive list of HIV/AIDs preventive interventions that are likely to be effective and cost-effective in Thailand.

This booklet is for young people living with HIV who want to be involved in advocacy. The booklet asks some important questions about why you want to be an advocate, and the issues that you care about. It offers suggestions for ways to get involved, top tips for your work, as well as some words of inspiration from famous people.

This leaflet informs health providers about the do’s and don’ts in service provision to adolescents and young people living with HIV. The leaflet was developed by and with young people living with HIV. It includes experience illustration, a charter for health facilities that offer friendly services and a scorecard that can be used to assess the quality of services provided to adolescents and young people living with HIV.

Girls Not Brides are calling on G7 countries to prioritise and act on child marriage. These advocacy briefs call on leaders in G7 countries to recognise the need for global level action on child marriage, to develop concrete solutions that are applied at the local level, and to pledge funding to support the implementation of policies and programmes to empower girls. We are also showcasing the Southern African Development Community Model Model Law on Child Marriage as an example of best-practice gender equality legislation, calling on the G7 Gender Equality Advisory Council to include it within their legislative package, and to encourage the uptake of strong laws on child marriage.
